Manage teams
Create, edit, archive, and switch between teams in the CosmicAC web interface.
Create teams to organize people and their jobs, update team details, and archive teams that you no longer use. Manage teams in Settings > Teams.
Prerequisites
You need the role that the task requires:
- Create a team: the platform administrator role.
- Edit or archive a team: the team lead role or the platform administrator role.
For details about roles and permissions, see Teams and roles.
Open the team list
- In the sidebar, click Settings.
- Click Teams.
The Teams page lists your teams. If you're a platform administrator, the page lists every team in the deployment.
Create a team
- On the Teams page, click Create team.
- In the Name field, enter a name that no other active team uses.
- Optional: in the Description field, enter a description of up to 160 characters.
- Click Create team.
The new team has no members. To add its first team lead, switch to the new team, and then invite that person. See Manage team members.
Switch your active team
Your active team owns the jobs and API keys that you create.
- At the top of the sidebar, click the team switcher.
- Click the team that you want to work in.
The page reloads with that team active.
Edit a team
You can update a team's name and description. A team lead can edit only their active team. A platform administrator can edit any team.
- If you're a team lead, switch to the team that you want to edit.
- On the Teams page, in the team's row, click Edit team.
- Update the Name or Description field.
- Click Save changes.
Archive a team
Archive a team when you no longer need it.
You can't select an archived team or restore it from the web interface.
You can't archive a team that still has jobs, reserved nodes, or members other than you. Suspended members count as members, but you don't need to remove yourself.
Nobody can remove a team's last active team lead. If you're a platform administrator who isn't a member of the team, ask the team lead to archive the team instead.
- Remove every other member from the team. See Manage team members.
- Delete the team's jobs.
- If the team has reserved nodes, ask a platform administrator to clear the reservation. See Clear a team's reservation.
- On the Teams page, in the team's row, click Archive team.
- In the Archive team dialog, click Archive team.
If you archive your active team, the web interface reloads and opens your next available team.
